CSM Boyt has served in numerous operational and generating force assignments throughout his career and has held leadership positions including team leader, squad leader, weapons squad leader, senior drill sergeant, platoon sergeant, first sergeant, senior military science instructor, brigade operations sergeant major and command sergeant major. He has served in 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York; 4th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Polk, Louisiana; 2-504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Caroliana; 1-31 Field Artillery Battalion, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Bravo Company, 2-504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Charlie Company, 1-504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, North Carolina; command sergeant major, 1-505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and operations sergeant major, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
CSM Boyt’s six combat tours include two tours to Operation Iraqi Freedom, two tours to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and one tour to Operation Freedoms Sentinel in Iraq. He has also deployed to Kosovo for Operation Joint Guardian. CSM Boyt’s military education includes all levels of NCOPDS, Basic Instructor Course, Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Air Assault School, Javelin Instructor Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Airload Planners Course, the Master Fitness Trainer Course, the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course, Senior ROTC Pre-Command Course, Class 74 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Course, Commandant Pre-Command Course, and Battalion Pre-Command Course.
