Brigadier General Bill Ryan is originally from Chicago, Illinois but was raised in an Army Family as the proud son of a retired Army Officer. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and commissioned as an Aviation Officer in 1994.
BG Ryan’s previous general officer assignments include as the Deputy Commanding General and Chief of Staff of America’s First Corps; Senior Advisor, Afghan Ministry of Defense during Operation Resolute Support; and as Deputy Commanding General, 7th Infantry Division.
BG Ryan has had the privilege of serving in and commanding Aviation organizations at every level in both the 101st Airborne Division and 7th Infantry Division, including multiple overseas combat tours in the Middle East.
BG Ryan holds two master’s, one in Policy Management from Georgetown University and another in Campaign Planning and Strategy from the Joint Advanced Warfighting School.
