SFC Murphy

First Army OC/T Academy Chief Of Training

Sergeant First Class Murphy is the Chief Of Training at the 1st Army OC/T Academy. Sergeant First Class Murphy hails from Barstow, California. 

Sergeant First Class Murphy has held leadership positions as a Battalion S1 NCOIC, Brigade S1 NCOIC, and G1 NCOIC for Operation Allies Welcome.

Sergeant First Class Murphy has served in the Army for over 15 years in various duty assignments throughout the United States and overseas, to include 22nd Human Resource Company Joint Base Lewis McChord Washington, 18th Engineer Brigade Heidelberg Germany, Headquarters and Headquarters Company Garrison Fort Irwin California, 5-7 Air Defense Artillery Battalion Baumholder Germany, 181 Infantry Brigade Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, and the 1st Army OC/T Academy Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois. 

Sergeant First Class Murphy’s schools and education include Warrior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Suicide Intervention Training (Assist), Battle Staff, Master Resilience Trainer, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Unit Prevention Leader, Unit Armorer, Postal Operations, Combative Level 1, and CFD-IC. Sergeant First Class Murphy’s Civilian Education includes a Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management. 

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4 oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (9 oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Unit Citation Award (1 oak leaf cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/2 bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon w/numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon w/numeral 4, and the NATO Medal.  He has earned the Driver and Mechanic Badge.  He is also an Awardee of the Adjutant General’s Corps COL Robert L. Manning Achievement Medal. 

Sergeant First Class Murphy currently resides in Davenport Iowa with his Wife Nina and Sons Lee and Luke.
