Col. Andrew K. Sinden
Colonel Andrew K. Sinden graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology as a Distinguished Military Graduate and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in Infantry in 2001. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, a Masters of Military Operational Art and Science from the Air Command and Staff College, and a Masters of Strategic Science from the Army War College.
His first assignment was with 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado where he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Following the Infantry Captain's Career Course, he served as a Senior Platoon Trainer in 2nd Battalion, 11th Infantry Regiment, Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Fort Benning, Georgia, and then as the logistics officer for 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In September 2008, Colonel Sinden assumed command of B Troop, 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment in Afghanistan while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Following Troop Command, Colonel Sinden served as the Executive Officer of 2nd Battalion, 11th Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia and then attended the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. Colonel Sinden then moved to Fort Stewart, GA where he served as a Plans Officer in the 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters, as the Executive Officer of 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, as the Executive Officer of the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and as the Secretary of the General Staff in the 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters.
Colonel Sinden served as the Professor of Military Science at North Carolina State University and then took command of 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Johnson, LA. While commanding 2-2 IN, he deployed in support of the US Border Patrol on the South West border and in support the United States Military Academy’s Cadet Summer Training. Colonel Sinden then served as the 10th Mountain Division Operations Officer (G3) deployed forward at the Headquarters, Resolute Support Mission, Afghanistan. Following the end of the Resolute Support Mission, he served as the Chief, Live Fire Division, JRTC Operations Group at Fort Polk, LA. After graduating from the US Army War College, he most recently served as the Chief of the Future Operations Division within the Operations Directorate of US Central Command.
