In these Stars and Stripes Frontline Headlines: The U.S.S. George H.W. Bush left Virginia with reports it is bound for the Eastern Mediterranean Sea to take part in Operation Epic Fury. The government of Okinawa is protesting about a precautionary landing made by a Marine helicopter near a youth baseball field, where a UH-Y1 Viper landed due to a cockpit warning light. Lastly, two former NFL players were on hand to officially open a new fitness center for Marines at Camp Fuji, Japan.

Mission & Vision

Mission: 181st Infantry Brigade supports Reserve Component (RC) Contingency Expeditionary Force (CEF) training in accordance with FORSCOM and 1st Army directives to meet Sustainable Readiness Model (SRM) requirements. On order, trains and validates Deployment Expeditionary Forces (DEF) units. On order, provides training to joint, interagency, combined, and active Army forces.
  
Vision:  A values-based team of disciplined, competent leaders of character who care for Soldiers, Civilians, and Families, and partner with units to improve leader and collective proficiency through realistic, doctrinally sound training.​

Endstate:  Enable Reserve Component (RC) units to “own" their training and readiness with the knowledge, experience, ability and confidence to deploy and defeat the enemy on the modern, contested battlefield.
