CSM Evan Lewandowski

Senior Enlisted Leader

Command Sergeant Major Evan Lewandowski hails from Daytona Beach, Florida. He entered the United States Army in October 2000 and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, graduating as a Cavalry Scout.

CSM Lewandowski has served in every leadership position form Team Leader to Brigade Command Sergeant Major and Ranger Instructor. His previous assignments include: Delta Troop, 1st Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment Fort Polk, Louisiana; Alpha Troop, 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment; 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 505th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division; 4th Battalion, Ranger Training Brigade; 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment; and 4th Brigade, 25th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne). He most recently served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 196th Infantry Brigade, Joint Pacific Multi National Readiness Center (JPMRC), the Training support Brigade for U.S. Army Pacific.

CSM Lewandowski deployed in response to Hurricane Katrina in support of humanitarian efforts in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2005. He has also deployed in support of the Global War on Terror to Iraq (2006-2007, 2008-2009, and 2015), and Afghanistan (2017-2018).

His military and civilian education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System, Basic Leadership Development Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Course, Senior Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Course, United States Sergeants Major Academy class 66, and Nominative Leaders Course. He has also completed Airborne School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Jumpmaster School, Rappel Master Course, Combatives Level II, Master Resilience Training Course, Tactical Instructors Course, Master Jump Master Course, Pathfinders course, Rappel Master course, Battle Staff, CWOC, Jungle course. He has an associate of science from Daytona Beach State College and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.

CSM Lewandowski’s awards and decorations include: Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (3 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC and C device), Army Achievement Medal (7 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon w/ Numeral 5, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon w/numeral 2, NATO Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutists Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge and Ranger Tab. CSM Lewandowski has been inducted into the Order of Saint George, Order of Saint Maurice, and Order of Saint Barbara and holds gold and silver spurs.
