CSM Keyon D. Cummings is a native of Perry, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Army in July of 2002 and completed OSUT at Fort Leonard Wood, MO earning the MOS of Combat Engineer (12B). CSM Cummings’ served as a Vehicle Driver and a Combat Engineer with C Co. 27th EN BN, 20th EN BDE, Fort Bragg, North Carolina from December 2002 to January 2004; Vehicle Driver and Team Leader with HHC, 20th EN BDE, Fort Bragg, North Carolina from January 2004 to February 2006; Team Leader, Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant with C Co. 27th EN BN, 20th Engineer Brigade, Fort Bragg North Carolina from February 2006 to October 2008; Drill Sergeant and Senior Drill Sergeant with C Co. 3-10 Infantry Regiment, 3rd CHEM BDE, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri from October 2008 to March 2009; Senior Drill Sergeant with C Co. 2-10 Infantry Regiment, 3rd CHEM BDE, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri from March 2009 to December 2010; Platoon Sergeant with A Co, 425th BSTB, 4-25th IBCT, Fort Richardson, Alaska from December 2010 to January 2012; Brigade Engineer NCOIC with HHC, 4-25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska from January 2012 to January 2013; Company Operations Sergeant and First Sergeant with A Co and B Co, 425th Special Troops Battalion, 4-25th IBCT, Fort Richardson, Alaska from January 2013 to August 2014; Operations Sergeant and First Sergeant with HHC (Rear), 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Fort Hood, Texas from August 2014 to November 2015; and First Sergeant with A Co, 91st EN BN, 1st ABCT, 1CD, Fort Hood, Texas from November 2015 to October 2017, G3 Plans Operations Sergeant with HHB, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas from November 2017 to August 2018; Corps Engineer Section SGM, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC from August 2019 to October 2020; Battalion Command Sergeants Major, 8th EN BN, 2ABCT, 1CD Fort Cavazos, Texas; and as the Brigade Command Sergeants Major of 36th Engineer Brigade, III Armored Corps, Fort Cavazos, Texas. CSM Cummings’ has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom three times and Operation Iraqi Freedom once; and one rotation to Korea.
CSM Cummings’ military education includes all levels of the NCOPDS including First Sergeant and Commander Pre-Command Course, Battle Staff, Drill Sergeant School, Sapper Leader Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Air Assault School, Master Resiliency Training, Equal Opportunity Leader, Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt), Cold Weather Leader Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, and Field Sanitation Course. CSM Cummings holds an associate’s degree from Central Texas University in General Studies, BS in Sports and Health Science from American Military University, and a MA in Leadership Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.
