The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman returns to Naval Station Norfolk Dec. 16 following an eight-month deployment to the Second, Fifth and Sixth Fleet areas of operations. Since deploying in April, the Sailors of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group flew combat operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, conducted numerous bilateral training events, operated above the Arctic Circle, and participated in Exercises Baltic Operations 2018 and Trident Juncture 2018; the first Sailors to deploy under the Navy's Dynamic Force Employment strategy.
